CALLING ALL HIPHOP HEADS AT OXFORD!

Professor Marcyliena Morgan, Executive Director of the Hiphop Archive, will be speaking at "Hiphop, Knowledge, and the Academy" hosted by TORCH - The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities. Professor Morgan will introduce students and researchers in Oxford to The Hiphop Archive and Research Institute at the Hutchins Center, Harvard University: the motivation behind its creation, its institutional structure, areas of research, and emphasis on the three targets ‘Build, Respect, Represent.' Other issues to discussed include the place and value of the study of hiphop in academia as well as the exchange of knowledge between researchers of hiphop in US and UK institutions studying hiphop, British rap, and grime.
