"The author discusses perceptions of Latino voters. He comments that Latino voters have been identified as a key demographic in the 2008 U.S. presidential election and notes media characterizations of Latinos as sexist or racist based on their votes in the Democratic Party's primary elections. He discusses the lack of Latinos in journalism and the promotion of Latino stereotypes. He suggests that that the assimilation of Latinos into American society masks a form of racism."
