Abstract/Synopsis:	Founded in November 1994 by Harvard graduates Skiz Fernando & Jeremy Dawson as an outlet for their music, WordSound Recordings flourished into an underground dynasty responsible for over 50 releases during the course of 10 years. In addition to pioneering such styles as avant-garde hip-hop, future dub, illbient and broken beat, by previously unknown artists suc as Spectre, Sensational, and Scotty Hard, WordSound's eclectic roster went on to feature such luminaries as Bill Laswell, Prince Paul, and the Jungle Brothers, as well as a whole cast of characters whose music can only be described as highly creative, original, and innovative.
